Alex has always lived in the area, and moved to Stanley in 2020 bringing his wife and two young children, who now attend the local pre-school and primary schools, as well as various other local children's clubs. Moving in the height of the Covid pandemic was a struggle but the lockdowns gave him time to pursue his enjoyment of DIY and refurbish the house they now live in. He is a keen DIY-er who has refurbished several homes and is now very familiar with planning and building regulations.
In 2017 Alex started his own small business IT support firm based in Ilkeston which now employs 5 persons. Beyond IT he has always had a keen interest in politics, fed by his studies in Economics at Loughborough University. As well as DIY and IT, Alex enjoys running and playing 5-a-side football.
Alex joined the council in August 2022 and likes to help represent young families in the area, while trying to make Stanley and Stanley Common a friendly and enjoyable place for his children to grow up.
